I fell in love with SoulCollage® from the first workshop I attended.  I also love facilitating SoulCollage® workshops.  This transformative art form brings together two significant avenues of endeavor in my life, collage-making and divination, into a powerful synthesis.  I appreciate the creative activity of making the cards, and am continually impressed by the depth of truth and wisdom that comes from reading them.

I was raised in New Orleans, that mythic, below-sea-level city where cultures co-mingle and imagination rules. I learned that crazy celebrations requiring costumes and dancing in the street took precedence over everyday life. Its traditions and troubled history, its eccentricities and music make it unlike any other city in the United States.  I draw nourishment from these roots and appreciate the sensual richness of having grown up in such a vibrant, hot environment.

In my early 20’s Northern California called irresistibly, “Come and realize your human potential, your desire for emotional and spiritual growth.  Come, join women’s groups, learn bodywork, breath-work, new ways to dance and paint, new perspectives… Come and camp in the redwoods!”  I’m a synthesis of Louisiana bayou and Pacific Ocean, grateful to have made a home in Oakland, a very diverse and interesting city.

And now, after a long sojourn in the Bay Area, I have returned home to my roots.  I’ve brought SoulCollage® with me, along with the wealth of other experiences I’ve gathered.

My Master’s is in Drama Therapy.  Character, personality, archetype… are fruitful areas for exploration and self-expression.  As a certified Enneagram of Personality teacher and having worked with it for over 30 years, I value the reminder that our perspectives are different.  It also offers insight into the mysterious interface of personality and essence.  My favorite way to bring the enneagram personality types to life is to animate them through drama and movement.

As a long-time meditator, I cherish the quiet stillness in which to let go of thoughts and distractions, and settle into a singular focus on the breath.

Having immersed myself in a lifelong exploration of body-based practices, I feel the body is key to being here fully.  The more embodied, the more real, the better to meet life’s challenges and navigate transitions. I marvel at the vast intelligence of the body and have a particular interest in exploring inner realms for healing and awakening. Bringing somatic awareness into SoulCollage® work helps to anchor the insights gained from reading the cards.
